To the self-proclaimed native-English speaker edit

The one who keeps reverting my cleaning-up work (here and here). Street names cannot be just translated to other languages because only one language is native to each country. Also, just as owning a pet does not make you a notable person, beekeeping is not a notable profession either. That is all. 192.64.11.204 (talk) 09:36, 21 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

He also keeps adding back the German translation of "Jesenice." Did Germans take over Jesenice again? 80.112.143.42 (talk) 05:44, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Exonym edit

Aßling or Assling is an exonym for Jesenice that appears on 21st-century maps and in other 21st-century publications. This topic is covered at WP:NCGN. Doremo (talk) 05:58, 26 April 2014 (UTC)Reply

Is German an official language in Slovenia? If not, then why include it at all? There are current maps with Italian translations as well, and nobody included them because they are not needed. 198.143.0.153 (talk) 10:53, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Conjunctions edit

Regarding this change, the etymology section needs three ands. The structure of "as Assnigkh and Asnigkh in 1381, and Jasnickh and Aisnstnick in 1493–1501" is "A and B in 1381, and C and D in 1493–1501" or "(A and B) and (C and D)". If it were in Slovenian it would be "(A in B) ter (C in D)". It is structurally equivalent to John likes bacon and eggs and peanut butter and jelly. Please ask if something is unclear. Doremo (talk) 10:03, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

English and Slovene are two very different languages. You obviously barely know English. Stick to Slovene, and Slovenian Wikipedia. 198.143.0.153 (talk) 10:06, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Please review WP:Personal. I've tagged the page so that another editor can correct the errors. Doremo (talk) 10:12, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I have removed the tags because they make the article trashy. You are not a helpful contributor. 198.143.0.153 (talk) 10:15, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Articles edit

Regarding this change, the political parties (the Slovenian People's Party, the Slovenian Democratic Party, and the Social Democrats) take the article the, as is clear on the main articles for the parties. Please ask if something is unclear. Doremo (talk) 10:07, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

You are nitpicking issues that are not there. Both cases are correct, except your additions are really redundant. Though as a compromise to end this stupid edit-war, I have restored your version. You are welcome. 198.143.0.153 (talk) 19:23, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Etymology section edit

Regarding this change, the cited source states "Druga, manj verjetna možnost je domneva, da ime vsebuje občn. im. *velen(je) ..." and so the etymology section should read "A less likely hypothesis derives the name from the Slovene common noun velen(je) ..." to accurately represent the cited source. Doremo (talk) 10:20, 3 May 2014 (UTC) (Misplaced text moved to Talk:Velenje.) Doremo (talk) 15:03, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

The shortened (current) version states the same thing. You should really learn English, instead of just using Google Translate and messing with editors who want to improve the article. 198.143.0.153 (talk) 10:25, 3 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Requested move 11 February 2018 edit

Jesenice, JeseniceJesenice – Requesting move per WP:Primary topic. This Slovenian town is the 11th largest by population in the country, also a administrative district capital. Other places at Jesenice are just small villages. Page views analysis also shows this page gets the most of the traffic. Darwinek (talk) 19:46, 11 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Support, Support per nom, but I wouldn't mind moving it to the town's German name either. —  AjaxSmack  17:32, 15 February 2018 (UTC)Reply

Moved, as suggested. --Tone 13:08, 18 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
