Friend of Casanova as well edit

I am currently reading the Memoirs of Casanova, Volume 27, Expelled From Spain. He has a friendship with Marquis d'Argens who is mentioned as one who used to be famous for his writing but is no longer and gives Casanova his entire collection of writings which led me to believe this man is recorded well in history. Sure enough, here he appears. So I added Casanova to his list of friends as I was surprised to not see it there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.160.134.9 (talk) 23:59, 7 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Full account of their acquaintance can be found in the recent biography THE MARQUIS D'ARGENS : A Philosophical Life By Julia Gasper. LEXINGTON BOOKS USA 2013

“This is by far the best study available on a major but unjustly neglected Enlightenment writer who ought to be as famous for his intellectual contribution as he once was for his wit and amusing storytelling. This book fills a considerable gap in the standard literature on the Enlightenment.”—Jonathan Israel, Institute for Advanced Study “An accessible and interesting account of a man who, as Julia Gasper says, situated himself ‘at the nerve-centre of the Enlightenment.”—Joanna Innes, University of Oxford — Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.110.181.118 (talk) 14:43, 31 January 2014 (UTC)Reply

Inquisition edit

...his books were frequently denounced by the Inquisition.
Inquisition in France? Any proof of this? Rather the opposite: Boyer denouncing the Inquisition?
