Outdated edit

This article needs an update. There's no mention of his book Totally Joe, and shouldn't he be in the LGBT writers category? I'd edit it myself, but I'm not really an expert on him. I just read an interview in which he discussed Totally Joe and stated he was gay. 199.126.166.13 23:09, 16 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

He came out, and discussed The Misfits, at http://www.tolerance.org/teach/magazine/features.jsp?cid=641. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 12:28, 14 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Vandalism edit

Some vandal wrote on the page, "They also sucked and so do Americans. America sucks." I have erased that drivel. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.105.128.36 (talk) 03:49, 26 July 2009 (UTC)Reply

Buddhism edit

Is James Howe a Buddhist? The Bunnicula books seem to indicate that he is. I.e., Chester teaching Howie to meditate, Howie stating that Harold had been listening to Mr. Monroe's Zen tapes.

Birth year edit

The infobox says 1948. The lead says 1946. Anyone know which it is? ProfessorTofty (talk) 19:25, 1 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of Deborah Howe edit

Deborah Howe appears to have insufficient coverage to sustain an article of her own; what's in the article is obviously not good enough, and I can't find anything substantial to shore it up. Should be merged into her husband's article. Merge was already carried out but undone pending discussion, so I hope that both parties will comment here. @PercussionistsUnite and Mvolz: --Elmidae (talk · contribs) 18:54, 12 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose. She shouldn't be treated as a footnote in her husband's life; from what I can tell she was at least an equal contributor to their work. She also had an independent career as an actor.[1] If the page is to be merged anywhere, it should be to Bunnicula, the work for which she is famous. pburka (talk) 16:29, 10 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose It seems she has enough notable books to her name to pass WP:AUTHOR and, in my opinion, have a separate article. Also, her husband has written work outside of their partnership (and, at least from what I've seen, joint articles are for creators that have only/primarily made notable work together). - Whisperjanes (talk) 02:16, 20 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • Comment - I went ahead and added extra biographical detail to the Deborah Howe article. It seems that during her life she was an actor (as mentioned by pburka above) more-so than a writer, and only wrote those books when she was in the hospital before she died. - Whisperjanes (talk) 16:13, 20 September 2020 (UTC)Reply
      • Since this conversation has gone stale, and Deborah Howe seems to have enough coverage to pass WP:GNG or WP:AUTHOR, I'm going to remove the "discuss" template from the article. - Whisperjanes (talk) 11:59, 22 October 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Whisperjanes: just a quick reminder to remove both templates when closing a merge; I've just removed the other one, on James Howe, which had been left up. Klbrain (talk) 13:21, 8 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
@Klbrain: Thanks for catching that! Didn't realize I missed it :) - Whisperjanes (talk) 18:38, 8 November 2020 (UTC)Reply
