Medvedev's Perspectives on Kosovo edit

Regarding Kosovo, President Medvedev was correct. One cannot support a region breaking away from a state for purely ethnic reasons (i.e. Kosovo from Serbia) and then deny this right to other regions round the world such as Abkhazia and South Ossetia. However, the interest and motives of Russia in this area are unclear and could be discussed in the article. Is it oil or something else, for example. I doubt whether England would intervene to protect a breakaway Shetland Islands from an independent Scotland.

There is a discussion currently ongoing on the template talk page of Template talk:Numrec#Withdrawn Recognition Currently not Subtracting from the Number of Recognitions that might affect the structure of the first table within this article. The recognition map edit

@Labrang: I don't think your recent reverts are very productive: you are factually misrepresenting what the map actually shows. It's the states that ever recognized them in the past that are highlighted. cherkash (talk) 22:51, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

The text with the map says "A world map, showing the status of international recognition of Abkhazia and South Ossetia independence by nation". So what you are stating above does not match with the label with the map. So either you misrepresent here what the map is supposed to display, or the label with the map is wrong. It can't be both correct. My suggestion: change the label to represent your statement above. I will do so immediately to show you I am both productive and search a middle ground here, unlike others who make a habit of reverting and refuse to find common ground. --Labrang (talk) 23:40, 27 February 2022 (UTC)Reply
