San Francisco Naval ShipyardHunters Point Naval Shipyard – This is a more historically correct name for the article. See talk page for discussion. Mattomynameo (talk) 07:37, 26 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Currently the article is listed as San Francisco Naval Shipyard. But this naming is incorrect. It is true that the shipyard may have been originally coined as the "San Francisco Shipyard",[1] however, throughout its notable history it has been known as the "Hunters Point Naval Shipyard"[2][3] or the "San Francisco Naval Shipyard at Hunters Point."[4][5] Very recently, real estate developers seem to have attempted to re-brand it back to "San Francisco Naval Shipyard."[6][7]

Therefore, I propose that we name the article consistent with its most historically notable and recognizable name, "Hunters Point Naval Shipyard" or perhaps "San Francisco Naval Shipyard at Hunters Point." Any thoughts?--Mattomynameo (talk) 07:25, 26 May 2018 (UTC) --Relisting. Ⓩⓟⓟⓘⓧ Talk 13:35, 2 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

  • Support. This reverses an undiscussed move 14:58, 10 April 2004‎ Stan Shebs (talk | contribs | block)‎ . . (43 bytes) (+43)‎ . . (moved to "San_Francisco_Naval_Shipyard") so could even be justified on that basis alone, plus extra evidence above makes it a clear case. Andrewa (talk) 16:35, 2 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
