Opinion polling for the next Hungarian parliamentary election edit

Hi there! I've got the perfect idea! What about the Opinion polling for the Next Hungarian parliamentary election ? Like in the next Greek election, next German Federal Election, next Italian General Election and the next Polish Parliamentary Election, it is the perfect idea from me! We can create this page in this English Wikipedia. --ViceCity343 (talk) 15:14, 1 May 2016 (UTC)Reply

@ViceCity343: Go for it. The title should be Opinion polling for the next Hungarian parliamentary election. Number 57 20:53, 3 May 2016 (UTC)Reply
I made it this time.--SMB99thx XD (contribs) 13:21, 17 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Update edit

Hey everyone! The MSZP-s new party leader is Gyula Molnár, and the opinion polling is going to uptade in this English Wikipedia! András Schiffer is not president anymore on the LMP, because he is had enough of it, and he is going to lawyer in Hungary. --ViceCity343 (talk) 21:53, 28 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

Nominated at In the News edit

{{ITN nom}} -Ad Orientem (talk) 20:01, 9 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I strongly recommend that editors comment there very soon if this article is to be displayed on the main page. --1990'sguy (talk) 03:07, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
No enormous hurry; I'm willing to post if the post-election section is beefed up a little, and other admins active at ITN have different standards. It would probably go in second after the Golf Masters as we're on a pretty slow update cycle at the moment. Espresso Addict (talk) 03:36, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

FPTP votes edit

Why aren't we showing the votes and % for the first past the post votes this year? We did in the previous elections. Also, the table lack a source.--Aréat (talk) 20:09, 9 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Election maps edit

Would someone please upload maps showing the election results in the single-member districts, as shown here? --1990'sguy (talk) 23:40, 9 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Those show Jobbik as dark green while black is used here, though...--Aréat (talk) 00:57, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I personally don't mind what color we use for Jobbik (though I will note that every Wikipedia article still uses black, and we can change the color if necessary). What's most important at the time being is that we create a map. --1990'sguy (talk) 01:00, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Electoral conduct edit

The UK paper The Guardian is quoting the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) criticising the conduct of the election.[1],[2] Espresso Addict (talk) 03:31, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

I saw that, as well as a good NYT article on that. I plan on adding that soon (unless someone does it first). --1990'sguy (talk) 03:43, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
I've put some material in, but the Guardian is not unbiased in these waters, so a summary from the NYT article would be good. Espresso Addict (talk) 04:16, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Opinion polling graph edit

The source for the data presented in this figure isn't clear. I have therefore commented out that image until it has been clarified, because this article has been posted (by me) to the main page via WP:ITN/C. Regards, Vanamonde (talk) 06:03, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Avopeas: Pretty sure it just uses Opinion polling for the Hungarian parliamentary election, 2018. Mélencron (talk) 13:03, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Mélencron: Entirely possible, but this needs to be made clear. I'm not in any way suggesting that the data are incorrect, only that we need to know where they come from before placing this on the main page. Vanamonde (talk) 17:21, 10 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Semi-protected edit request on 12 April 2018 edit

Please replace this sentence: "The barrier became successful, as since 17 October 2015 onward, thousands of migrants were diverted daily to Slovenia instead" with this:"The barrier became successful, as ,from 17 October 2015 on, thousands of migrants' way to Western Europe were diverted day in and day out in the direction of Slovenia instead". 81.182.154.53 (talk) 12:53, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Partly done: I replaced "since" with "from" in order to remove the redundancy with "onward". "Day in and day out" is normally not a phrase used in an encyclopedia. —KuyaBriBriTalk 13:51, 12 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Kuyabribri. It is O.K. with me.--81.182.154.53 (talk) 07:01, 13 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Existence of minority seats edit

How come the german minority was able to gain a seat with this few votes? Logically it would mean there's reserved seats for them, but there weren't in the previous election, and the electoral system section make no mention of it.--Aréat (talk) 10:17, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Aréat: Judging by the text here, it seems that there is an electoral threshold for minority parties (Romania has something similar), and they didn't pass it in 2014. Number 57 11:00, 16 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
You're right. Thanks!--Aréat (talk) 22:32, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Blank/invalid votes edit

Does anybody know how many Blank and invalid votes there were for the First past the Post vote, as the valid votes total is different?--Aréat (talk) 22:32, 18 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Soros edit

I considered adding the Central European University's potentially moving to Vienna[3][4][5] and the Open Society Foundations possibly moving out of Hungary,[6][7][8][9] but these might be too off-topic and/or preliminary to add, so I'll just leave this on the talk page for now. --1990'sguy (talk) 19:11, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Also, I read that another protest was held today: [10] I added the first two protests to the article as a reaction to the election, but there's probably a point where they aren't a direct reaction. --1990'sguy (talk) 03:19, 9 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Liberal Party edit

@Norden1990: Did the MLP run in this election? They are currently listed in the infobox following this series of edits. Cheers, Number 57 21:48, 23 June 2018 (UTC)Reply

Officially, MLP did not run in the election, (if they did, the "MSZP-PM-MLP" coalition need 15% threshold to gain any seats) one of their politicians was nominated to the joint national list under MSZP banner. So the separate representation of the MLP in diagram and tables is misleading and false: MLP parliamentarian Anett Bősz is simply Independent (as she left Dialogue caucus shortly thereafter, and any connections between MSZP-Dialogue and MLP was broken up after a disagreement over financial issues). A similar situation: the extra-parliamentary MSZDP did not run in the 2006 election, but their leader László Kapolyi secured a mandate via MSZP's national list. But this did not mean "MSZP-MSZDP" coalition, as MSZDP did not use its banner (as MLP did not use now)... --Norden1990 (talk) 09:12, 24 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
