Pop culture...?

Uh... if anime is listed as a subculture every other place on Wikipedia, why's it under American Pop culture? I'll grant that Astroboy and some of the older stuff is, but that's about it. Samurai Drifter 03:12, 10 May 2006 (UTC)

I can't remember if Yu-Gi-Oh began broadcast in the U.S. before the turn of the century or not. Regardless, it was most popular after the turn of the century, which is why I added it there. RadicalBender 22:20, 9 Jan 2004 (UTC)

A history of anime?

I don't have time to do it now, but maybe someone could write up a history of anime inthe United States for this article, i.e. a discussion of how anime was first brought here as uncredited children's movies most people didn't realize were foreign right through today's boom. This would enhance the article over the general list of series which happen to have been shown on TV, which does not provide any context and and only shows a small portion of the anime phenomenon as it has touched the US. Citation of Popularity

A lot of these shows are really not that popular. Citations need to be shown to show that these shows are immensly popular, being the most notable in the United States during a time span. Unless that is done, this page is pointless and proves nothing. Casey14 00:13, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

This articel is useless

Ultimately, this list needs to be broadened to cover anime with an English license in general, and then combined with several other lists lying around and being generally neglected, so that we end up with an anime topic (not article; there's way too much to fit it all on one list) equivalent to List of manga licensed in English. Lots and lots of work, though, which is why I haven't started on it yet (well, that and the manga list isn't ready to be ignored yet - needs to be split and sourced, and a scouring for series missing from it). 「ダイノガイ千？！」^{(Dinoguy1000)} 19:03, 26 February 2009 (UTC)

Canada separate

We need a parallel article "List of anime distributed in Canada". Canada and the US are separate markets for this kind of entertainment, and there are dozens of anime titles that were released in the US but never in Canada. --  Denelson83  03:18, 18 February 2020 (UTC)
