According to various sources, Paris (not Timisoara) was the European first city to get public electric lights. For example this http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v132/n3345/abs/132888c0.html states that first public electric lights in Paris were installed in 1878.
I really think that the whole history section should be rewriten. It should have different sections and not this simple year-event structure. Dent 08:53, 19 Nov 2004 (UTC)
I would suggest to re-consider the data given for the year 1323. The statement is now as follows: "King Charles I of Hungary attends the holy service in Saint George's church [Sfântu Gheorghe]. This church still exists today in Timisoara."
During my recent visit to Timisoara, I could not find any traces of such a medieval church. The only Saint George's church I could trace is the one at Piata Traian, but that one originally only stems from the early 18th century (and mostly from the 1920's). All in all, I was unable to identify ANY building from pre-Habsburg times, except for the general plans of some complexes, but no edifices as such. [Johan Snel]
The 1969 - Mecipt 1, the first Romanian computer was made in Timişoara entry in the timetable should be corrected. The first romanian computer was CIFA 1. Also the link in the article appears to be dead, might as well replace it with this one.
The computer MECIPT-1 was made in 1959-1961 at the Polytechnic Institute of Timisoara by Kaufmann and Lowenfeld, helped by technician Hartmann.
The first calculator build in Romania was CIFA 1 ,,Calculatorul Institutului de Fizica Atomica” (The Atomic Physics Institute Calculator) made by Victor Toma and completed in 1957.

There are not many, if any sources quoted in this article. I would like to quote some passages in Geschichte Timişoaras, the German equivqalent to this article. Can the authors please reveal their sources?
