Name of the town edit

According to the sign pictured in the article and this paragraph it does not seem to be correct, that the town was named Hershey due to the growing popularity of the chocolate, but that is was originally after Milton_S._Hershey 212.43.71.31 11:24, 11 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Hershey, PA was established by Milton Hershey when he began building his Hershey Chocolate factory here in 1903. The 1906 date references the date that a post office was established for the new community. Derry Church was not renamed Hershey. It continued to exist apart from Hershey, PA well into the teens. A review of the 1910 census shows that Derry Church was still a functioning community with its own post office. The post office was closed in 1918 and Derry Church was merged into the Hershey community.64.9.50.200 (talk) 12:09, 15 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Hershey redirect edit

I've proposed a change to the Hershey redirect which currently points here. See Talk:Hershey (disambiguation)#Move proposal for the discussion and to offer comments. -- AnmaFinotera (talk · contribs) 19:51, 5 January 2009 (UTC)Reply

I've made an official Move Request (and fixed AnmaFinotera's link to the original discussion). Powers T 01:10, 12 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

IGI Global edit

This article is about a city in Pennsylvania that has many businesses. An entire section on one of those (other than perhaps the one the town shares a name with) gives it undue weight and doesn't belong. That's especially true where the company in question has been determined not notable enough to have a wikipedia article. agtx 17:41, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

I agree that the section on this company looked like undue weight, and I see insufficient rationale for recreating the article on this company after it was deleted last month. Biogeographist (talk) 18:16, 20 October 2016 (UTC)Reply

Climate edit

We need to look at new numbers once the job of discarding the 80s temperature-average numbers and replacing them in the three-decade average is complete. In Hershey, despite a significant warmup, January remains below freezing and the area is Dfa. The hardiness zone is 7a. Heff01 (talk) 16:33, 6 August 2021 (UTC)Reply
