Globalization edit

This isn't a subject specific to England (I know at least America has laws dealing with the same offense). --STUART (talk) 22:17, 15 April 2011 (UTC)Reply

They are likely to be described as receiving stolen goods (the offence replaced by "handling"). That said, I think handling stolen goods is an offence in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. James500 (talk) 21:18, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

Cut and paste from Theft Act 1968 edit

I have moved the follwing passage here from Theft Act 1968. It might contain additional information that could be incorporated into this article, but it is so vague that it is difficult to tell. James500 (talk) 21:27, 24 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

The range of offences previously described as "receiving" were consolidated under ss22 et seq into handling which covers any situation in which a person assists a thief by buying the stolen goods or assisting in their disposal, etc.

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to one external link on Handling stolen goods. Please take a moment to review my edit. You may add {{cbignore}} after the link to keep me from modifying it, if I keep adding bad data, but formatting bugs should be reported instead. Alternatively, you can add {{nobots|deny=InternetArchiveBot}} to keep me off the page altogether, but should be used as a last resort. I made the following changes:

Merger Proposal edit

I propose that Handling stolen goods be merged into Possession of stolen goods as they clearly cover the same subject matter with Handling stolen goods being more parochial in scope if more detailed. In the alternative I suggest that the maintenance template on Handling stolen goods be Possession of stolen goods is clearly an attempt at the page the maintenance template envisions Handling stolen goods becoming.
