I have created redirect pages to link here: G.I.P. Railway G. I. P. Railway GIP Railway and applied them to a few pages. Perhaps someone feels like searching for these and linking them. PJTraill (talk) 22:49, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
- I meant GIP railway — sorry! PJTraill (talk) 22:51, 23 January 2014 (UTC)
Dates query edit
According to the article, the Great Indian Peninsula Railway Company was incorporated in August 1849, under an act of parliament passed in the same year; but had already, 2 years previously in August 1847, entered into a contract to build the first section of line. Is that really true? I suppose the company might have existed in some informal sense before its formal incorporation, but I wonder whether there might be an error here. Can anyone clarify?
