AccuracyEdit

As even a cursory sweep of references will easily show, “ gorge” is a term appled as much to permanent works as fieldworks, few of the fortifications of the era of classic trace italienne used double lines of bastions, open-backed outworks were used throughout the era of artillery, “gorge” is used for sides of works that are not open at all, and were sometimes not particularly weak, and, finally, “throat” has more potential metaphorical meanings than “weak point.” Qwirkle (talk) 14:37, 8 August 2020 (UTC)

If that's right the article is not inaccurate, just incomplete. So all you need to do is improve it with referenced material from the sources, taking account of the existing referenced text. Bermicourt (talk) 21:54, 8 August 2020 (UTC)
Inaccurate. It is claiming a development for a certain purpose at a certain time, when it was more widely used, and used well before. Qwirkle (talk) 03:36, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
At the moment this is simply your view. But feel free to go ahead and improve it based on reliable sources. Bermicourt (talk) 06:56, 9 August 2020 (UTC)
