I am the creator of this article. I am currently posting the material to the web. I am a student, a master's student, but the process is new to me and I am currently trying to hunt down information on one of the sources I used in my sandbox on the article. Once I have that information, I will post it and plan to be done with my part of the article. I would appreciate minor editing, if any, to be done in the meantime. Editing this and other Wikipedia articles

Editors who want to edit this article must do so in accordance with the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Articles in Wikipedia do not follow the individual style preferences of editors, but the encyclopedia's own style. I made a whole bunch of edits to bring the article in line, and I see that subsequent editors have gone ahead and put excess bolding and capitalization and so on back in, making it a complete mess. Please refer to the Wikipedia:Manual of Style and Wikipedia:How to edit a page for information on how to edit Wikipedia correctly. Also, do not add into the article instructions for other editors or what you plan to add. Add only relevant material.

Sorry, in addition to reorganizing, you also put in all sorts of extra and incorrect formatting in the sub-headings. Sub-headings in Wikipedia follow sentence case, not title case, i.e., "See also", not "See Also". And we do not put sub-headings in bold font - they are clear enough already. See Wikipedia:MOS#Article_titles.2C_headings.2C_and_sections for more information. Feel free to reorganize the article, but please don't muck up the headings again. AS I understand, the problem with the headings was the 3 , please instead of deleting it, tell me what additional problems there are and I will fix them. OK? It took us a while to get the content right and I'd rather fix the headings again. Don't put capital letters at the beginning of words. The part of the style manual above says this:

The initial letter of a title is capitalized (except in very rare cases, such as eBay). Otherwise, capital letters are used only where implied by normal capitalization rules ("Funding of UNESCO projects", not "Funding of UNESCO Projects").

I don't think this is difficult to understand, but you have done this again.

And don't put quotation marks in the heading. Just use two or three equal signs at the beginning and end of the heading.

You seem to have reverted it again, so please clean up the formatting errors now.

If there is text you are missing, you can go into the history of the article (by clicking the "History" tab at the top of the article) and copy it over.

Introduction

The article needs an introduction - a first paragraph that explains what it is about. Here is a start:

Golf course turf is the grass found on golf courses. The most common types of grass used in golf courses are....

I've done a bunch of clean-up work to try and get this article pointing in the right direction; moving to use inline citations/references and trying to provide a better highlevel context along with a suitable image and initial category. Currently the body text still dives straight into technical material without an introduction to each area. Somebody who is familiar with the subject needs to clear up the nitrate/nitrogen references (spell these out, and if specifically needed, use a properly formatted (NO₃^–) definition.

Generally it is unnecessary to say "XYZ identified that...", either the statement is verifiable or it's untrue/unverifiable and so won't be included! It's possible to just give the statement itself. Happy editing! —Sladen (talk) 05:31, 9 December 2008 (UTC)

Thank you to those from $unidentified school/university for attempting to edit/delete Golf course turf. However, it was published, and as such deleting it is not a solution (if academic papers were published on the subject, it clearly has grounds for Notability).

However, what it would be useful to do is indication what the errors are (so that they can be fixed, either by the student in question, or other Wikipedia editors at large). The most useful place to place this review is at the talk page of the article itself; click here to do that.

The entire article clearly cannot be wrong (Golf course turf exists, as shown in the photograph). Even better, would be to edit the article itself (goto Golf course turf, then click Edit). If only some specific statements are wrong, and you can "mark" these in the text itself with the messages listed on Wikipedia:ILT#List of inline templates, and include a comment (just like marking a double-spaced term paper by writing between the lines). For example, add using {{disputable|XYZ is actually ABC}} will display—when the article is edited, the detailed feedback will be seen.

Continued Work on the Article

I am the original contributor to the article and would like to make attempts at presenting factual and relevant information to the article. The content about nitrogen and its application on turf is one area needing to be revised to the commonly held scientific findings. I would also like for the article to be expanded and added to; whatever additional category on turf management and conservation that has scientific backing. I would like to correspond with whomever does want to help in this effort. I will do some further research into nitrogen application on turf and welcome others to do the same or to help by contributing another aspect of turf management and its conservation to the article.
