Citations, Citations, Citations

I'd like to get this article up to good article status. I feel it is already fairly close, it just needs a good copyedit and needs to be cited.--NMajdan•talk 01:42, 6 August 2006 (UTC)

I wrote most of this, mainly from memory, but didn't inline the citations I found at the time. (No, I don't know why I didn't ref at the time. I should have my head examined.) I shall make this my project for the weekend, since I learned some other news about an upcoming change to the stadium seating configuration this week. Okay, I'm done, so have at it. The biggest change I made was about the Gaylords' gift. Soonerstats.com put the size of the pricetag donation toward the stadium renovation at $50 million, but Sooner Magazine said it was $12 million. I had to dig deep to figure out which was correct, and I finally found it in a 2002 Journal Record article. The donation to the stadium project was $12 million, and $50 million is the total given by the Gaylords to the University during that period, including the $22 million for the new journalism building. Since Google returns conflicting references, I tried to make it clear that both numbers are correct in their own way. KrakatoaKatie 00:41, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

GA Reassessment

I am reassessing this article as a part of the GA Sweeps process. I've done a quick copyedit, but here are some more suggestions for improvement:

• I've added some fact tags were there are stats or figures I think need to be cited.
• The lead is supposed to be a summary of the article, not introduce new info. A lot of it (including the bench info and shape info) need to be moved down into the article, and the lead turned into a summary.
• The link to the 1976 photo is dead, and frankly, it looks bad being in the text like that. If a new link can be found, I think the info should be made into a footnote.
• Who is the original architect? Anyone worthy of mentioning?
• Any updates?

The article will remain on hold for one week, at which time I will decide whether to delist or keep its GA status. Thanks. Nikki311 19:08, 20 August 2008 (UTC)

Proposed merge of Barry Switzer Center into Gaylord Family Oklahoma Memorial Stadium

Apparently, the Barry Switzer Center was demolished in 2015. The article has been tagged for improvements for over 10 years, and also for notability concerns. If it doesn't warrant a stand-alone article, it could be merged into the article about the stadium that it served. Scottyoak2 (talk) 08:49, 28 January 2022 (UTC)

Those are not stats its a list of people who are subjects in the Mural located inside the Legends Lobby at the Barry Switzer Center and as far as I know it hasn't been updated since Mayfield and Murry won their Heismans and I don't know if it will be as the artist that created the work has since passed away.--Dcheagle • talk • contribs 09:12, 16 January 2023 (UTC)
