Subject notable enough for own namespace edit

I think frass needs a separate entry with the specific meaning of insect feces (c.f. wiktionary) e.g. the evidence of the codling moth - frass is not a synonym for feces Brownturkey 11:40, 14 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Completely agree. Done. Alastair Haines (talk) 09:37, 31 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Contradiction edit

"One example of frass is the excavated wood shavings" this is not "passed waste". Rich Farmbrough, 17:55, 21 October 2010 (UTC).Reply

German Origin edit

The German origin is "Fraß" (spelled "Frass" in Switzerland). It refers to the visible and economical consequences of some kind of infestation. There is "Insektenfraß" which comes quite close to the English meaning, but it describes the damage done to the infested plants and not the excreta of the insects. But there is even "Fraß" caused by oxidation of metals, acid or other chemicals.

Fraß is also a derogatory term for a very bad meal. — Preceding unsigned comment added by GFlohr (talkcontribs) 15:44, 25 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
