As early as 1586 he is mentioned as frequenting the French Ambassador's house with Lady Elizabeth Strange, Lady Compton, and other Catholics.[citation needed]
He lived an extravagant and restless life in London; by 1593 he was already one of the circle at Essex House, young men of fashion, 'hunger-starved for innovations'. I think he is pretty much squeezed dry, & I don't have any further comments, except that in the transcript of the fatal letter, "country" means "lands" or "estates" rather than "county" (OED 2). Johnbod (talk) 18:02, 21 October 2010 (UTC)
Misspelling edit
Under "Revealed", the word "stratagem" is used. It appears to be misspelled, but it is a part of a quote. Should it be corrected, or should a "Sic" be added? Grrahnbahr (talk) 11:57, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
- Copied and pasted from Gunpowder Plot, added by Malleus. Part of a quote and Malleus doesn't usually make mistakes, so it's probably correct. The OED quotes Shakespeare writing "strategem" around the same period. Parrot of Doom 12:23, 8 April 2013 (UTC)
"Revealed", question about detail edit
The article states "[m]eanwhile Tresham again warned Catesby and Wintour to abandon the scheme, to no avail". When was the first time for Tresham to warn Catesby and Wintour? Is it mentioned within the article? Grrahnbahr (talk) 15:40, 21 April 2013 (UTC)
