Cartoons

I notice that Fats Waller is caricatured in many cartoons of the 40's (specifically WB's "Tin Pan Alley Cats", "Clean Pastures" and MGM's "Little Ol' Bosko" cartoons). In all of these cartoons the character inevitable yells out to the audience "What's the matter with him?" (sometimes it sounds like "Wot's de moto wid him?" in dialect).

Was this a staple in Waller's stage routine? What did this routine involve?

Inclusion of Darren Waller in the introduction

The mention of his great-grandson Darren Waller reads like a non-sequitur. Does it even merit being in the introduction? Frank Lynch (talk) 02:40, 2 January 2020 (UTC)

This Joint is Jumpin'

I don't see the 1987 documentary about him or his 1941 filmed performance included.Here is the Library of Congress entry. The title seems to be from a 1941 filmed performance of that song. FloridaArmy (talk) 13:49, 21 May 2020 (UTC)

This short bio of John McWhorter seems out of place, and the quote that follows it could be cut and the facts relevant to Early to Bed could be paraphrased (with attribution). "Broadway producer Richard Kollmar's hiring of Waller to create the musical Early to Bed was recalled in a 2016 essay about Waller by John McWhorter, an American academic and linguist who is Associate Professor of English and Comparative Literature at Columbia University, where he teaches linguistics, American studies, philosophy, and music history.
