Ed Brubaker the Wikipedia editor edit

Is Ed Brubaker really editing his own article? Just curious, really. --Chris Griswold 07:16, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

retcons edit

While I am not thrilled with the POV of the following removed (possibly by Brubaker) passage, "He is well-known for having recently resurrected characters using retcon. His most famous retcons are the resurrection of one of the incarnations of Bucky in the latest run of Captain America and creating Vulcan, the third Summers brother in X-Men: Deadly Genesis.", I think the information in it might be important. Could someone work with me to find a better way to state this?-- Chris Griswold 03:20, 1 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I agree it is an aspect of his work that has often been discussed and deserves to be acknowledged. I'm gonna work on expanding the article with more info (as well as editing out all the POV that has crept in) and will be sure to add in a paragraph covering the topic. Yeah edit

I just took a look at this page the other day, and saw that retcon line, which seemed a bit weird, since it was the only part that commented on my actual work, and it's not the only thing I'm known for, if I'm known for anything. Anyway, I cut it, and then noddled around a bit, but I didn't think I'd broken any rules. Just added a few sentences and took a few out. I now see that it's sort of taboo to even do anything like that, according the autobio rules. I'm pretty sure I didn't try to do anything but give some facts, not POV, though. Anyway, someone seems to have done a whole big thing since then, so I hardly think my posting on Wikipedia is worth a line in the bio. It certainly won't happen again, believe me. -- Ed Brubaker 07:58, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Yeah, that shouldn't have been in there. The whole thing's really not a big deal; I and other editors just wanted to make sure that everything was being done according to the guidelines. Plus, we couldn't be sure it was you. What is it you object to? You're right about the retcon thing not being something you are known for; we'll have to make this article work better.
Anyway, just to get this out of the way: you've made me love Captain America again, the return of Bucky shouldn't be good but it, and I devoured Gotham Central. There. There, that's done.--Chris Griswold 08:50, 8 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Images edit

Doesn't anyone think we should have a few more images on this page? We've only got his photo. Something like the covers or interior art for his most famous issues/series, like Captain America, Daredevil or Gotham Crime. Just seems a bit plain, and most writers with the same level of fame as Brubaker seem to have a certain amount of images on their pages. (Any suggestions, Ed?) The cover of Captain America #25 would probably be a big one. Since your comment, anyway. Crimsondude 08:40, 21 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

He is best known for . . . . edit

He is best known for his work as a comic book writer on such titles as Batman, Daredevil, Captain America, Iron Fist, Catwoman, Gotham Central, Sleeper, Uncanny X-Men and X-Men: Deadly Genesis, and The Authority, and for helping to revive the crime comics genre.

I have no doubt that's true for most. But I just wanted to speak up and say, until I read this article, I only knew of Ed Brubaker from Lowlife. I had no idea he'd gone on to do well in superhero comics. I'm that out of the superhero loop. But I thought Lowlife was fantastic, and I've re-read it many times. --63.25.109.144 (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Wikification edit

I've turned all of the external links in to references, each has a name so that they can be used more than once. I am also going to work on spelling and links. Rau J16 20:18, 10 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

Is that *really crime fiction? --Allemandtando (talk) 00:35, 30 June 2008 (UTC)Reply

WikiProject Comics B-Class Assesment required edit

This article needs the B-Class checklist filled in to remain a B-Class article for the Comics WikiProject. If the checklist is not filled in by 7th August this article will be re-assessed as C-Class. The checklist should be filled out referencing the guidance given at Wikipedia:Version 1.0 Editorial Team/Assessment/B-Class criteria. For further details please contact the Comics WikiProject. Comics-awb (talk) 16:25, 31 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Done. Needs more references but I suspect if you root around in the articles on his comics you'll find plenty to scatter through the article. I've brought some over and fixed others that were breaking and it looks like it should be easy enough to fix it up as the actual text is pretty solid. Someone reversed the Ed Brubaker and Ben Croshaw images as a prank edit

The image on this page is actually video game critic Ben Croshaw and the image on Croshaw's page is actually a picture of Ed Brubaker. Someone obviously thought it was humorous they wear similar hats and glasses and switched the photos. Boris Tripod (talk) 21:22, 3 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Fatale disambiguation edit

The Fatale reference in his "other work" chart was linked to the Marvel Comics character, but this is a completely seperate creator-owned comic. Do we need a Fatale (comics) disambiguation page? Erikacornia (talk) 17:54, 12 May 2012 (UTC)Reply
