The Numbers

The numbers on imports, exports etc don't make much sense, since Slovenia with its two million population would have >20 times higher GDP than 140 million population of Russia. 10^12 is American "trillion", and American "billion" is 10^9. For years now these meanings of billion and trillion are also dominant in non-american English speaking countries. I can even understand the source of that mistake: in Poland, France and many other countries

The numbers for the GDP per Capita at PPP in the list given in the Section on Economic Performance, can imo not be reconciled with the one in the infobox in the introduction (even though this is $ and 2022, the gap is way too large). The way it would work out roughly is if the data in the table is nominal instead of PPP. Anyway, something seems seriously wrong with those numbers. Infty1000 0110 (talk) 11:47, 21 June 2022 (UTC)

Date weirdness

US Dollars

Why are all of these statistics in US$? Only one country uses the dollar officially yet around 13 countries use the euro. The euro will also be the currency of Slovenia in January 2007 and the euro is used in countries far closer than what use the us dollar. New economy box

I've created a template for the Slovenian economy. If no one objects I'll add it in in the next few days and review the Economic Performance section. Template can be viewed at Template:Economy_of_Slovenia_table -- Declangraham 13:55, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

I'm not objecting the use of template or the content of this new table. But I think there's an unnecessary layer of template here. Template:Economy of Slovenia table transcludes Infobox Economy, but Template:Economy of Slovenia table is transcluded only once, at Economy of Slovenia. There's no point to make a template if it's going to be transcluded once (with unlikely further transclusion in the future). I know this problem is not specific to Slovenia only. Other examples include [1]. But it'd be nice if we can stop the bleeding now. --ChoChoPK (球球PK) (talk | contrib) 03:13, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

There are some examples of transcluded economy infoboxes, e.g. Republic of Ireland. I think that transcluding infoboxes in general are a good idea as they are very often unwieldy to edit and a novice user encountering them in the main body of a page is likely to be intimidated by the complexity of their syntax, e.g Economy_of_the_Netherlands. Having them transcluded leaves the main body of an article cleaner. That said, I would like an Edit option always included at the bottom of such infoboxes -- Declangraham 17:22, 2 January 2007 (UTC)

Black Sea Economic Council Membership

Is Slovenia actually a member of the Black Sea Economic Council? I can find no reference to Slovenia on the BSEC homepage -- Declangraham 16:22, 1 January 2007 (UTC)

Biased?

I can't imagine a reasonable argument why "a cautious, deliberate approach to economic management and reform" should be regarded as an obstacle for economical success – maybe this is even a reason why Slovenia has succeeded where many other countries have failed.

GDP

Slovenia's GDP is around 48 thousand dollars? And it's 24 thousand per capita? For a class project I am going to update this page to discuss some of the concerns addressed on this page. The two major things I want to add is new statics that are up to date and in terms of the Euro, and new information that discuss the current economic state of solevnia and their recent economic downturn. Does anyone have much information that think would be beneficial to update or I should do differently.

I am going to be updating this page ( The economy of Slovenia) for a class assignment. Based on the concerns I have read above my post, and from the original Wikipedia page, I will be updating the statistics of the economy of the country to its most recent findings and making sure they are legible and accurate. As well I will be adding new information in regards to how the Country has progressed from the beginning and their current economic state. If there is anything that anyone from the Wikipedia community feels is extremely important and should be added, please let me know and I will try my best to update this page to the best of my ability.
