Out of date edit

'Although final figures are not yet available, it is expected to fall further, to about 1.7%, for 2003. But GDP growth is estimated to recover to over 4% in 2004, due largely to expanded oil exports'

This speaks for itself. Expected growth rates for 2004. It is 2009 now. This needs to be updated. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.38.228.106 (talk) 00:47, 11 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Dollarization in Ecuador edit

Agriculture and bananas edit

Since bananas are very important for the economy of Ecuador, I think the article deserves a section about agriculture and banana plantations--Forich (talk) 13:38, 17 March 2011 (UTC)Reply

Default edit

According to the current "Nation" magazine (article on Europe's periphery), Ecuador defaulted on its external debt in 2007. If this is so, it needs to be in the article.Kdammers (talk) 07:46, 9 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

External link to tariff data edit

Hello everyone, I am working for the International Trade Centre (ITC), a UN/WTO agency that aims to promote sustainable economic development through trade promotion. I would like to propose the addition of an external link (http://www.macmap.org/QuickSearch/FindTariff/FindTariff.aspx?subsite=open_access&country=218&source=1%7CITC) that leads directly to our online database of customs tariffs applied by Ecuador. Visitors can easily look up market access information for Ecuador by selecting the product and partner of their interest. I would like you to consider this link under the WP:ELYES #3 prescriptions. Moreover, the reliability and the pertinence of this link can be supported by the following facts 1) ITC is part of the United Nations, and aims to share trade and market access data on by country and product as a global public good 2) No registration is required to access this information 3) Market access data (Tariffs and non-tariff measures) are regularly updated

Thank you, Divoc (talk) 10:39, 23 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

Nonsensical statement in source? edit

>President Moreno later discovered loans made by China over the years currently require that Ecuador pay China back with almost 500 barrels of crude oil—or roughly three years of the country’s oil production.

It is copy pasted directly from the the linked source but I'm almost certain 500 barrels of oil is a lot less than three years of Ecuador's total oil production and far too small of a dollar value. 69.157.35.7 (talk)

summary sheet (currency) edit

In the summary sheet, in the "currency" part, only the US dollar appears as the currency of Ecuador, the "Ecuadorian cents" do not appear, since Ecuador issued its own cent coins, that is, those are not US dollars, in Ecuador there are two legal tender currencies, the US dollar and the ecuadorian centavo coins.
