Fair use rationale for Image:Eastern FT logo.png edit

Image:Eastern FT logo.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Eastern Sports ClubEastern Football Team – The article talks about their football section. "Eastern Football Team" is also used as the name of the official Facebook page. – Antonytse (talk) 13:49, 28 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

This is a contested technical request (permalink). —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 20:18, 28 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose - This definitely needs to be discussed first, it looks like the official name of the team is Eastern Sports Club but "Eastern Football Team" is used interchangeably. On their logo it says Eastern Sports Club but anywhere else it states "Eastern Football Team.
    • Comment - Since Eastern Sports Club forms a professional basketball team this year, it is better to move the current which only talk about its football team to "Eastern Football Team". This name is also used on the official Facebook page of the football team. (Link) Meanwhile, "Eastern Basketball Team" is used on it of the basketball team. (Link) Antonytse (talk) 01:37, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
      • Comment - Another alternative could be disambiguating the titles (unless the two teams are affiliated), e.g., making each title "Eastern Sports Club (association football team)" and "Eastern Sports Club (basketball team)". —Skyllfully (talk | contribs) 02:40, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment If the football arm is the main part of the sports club (and this does appear to be the case, as no other parts have Wikipedia articles) then the current title is appropriate per WP:PRIMARY. If it isn't, then the correct way to rename the article would be Eastern Sports Club (football) (see e.g. Maccabi Rishon LeZion (basketball), FC Bayern Munich (basketball)). • Comment What if both teams are the main parts of the club? Antonytse (talk) 12:31, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
      • What do you mean by "both teams"? What other team is there? Number 57 12:33, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
        • The basketball team. I am planning to create the article for Eastern basketball team. Antonytse (talk) 12:34, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
          • Are they of equal standing? When I Google "Eastern Sports Club", I only get football-related hits for the first few pages. Number 57 12:49, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
            • Yes, it is because Hong Kong basketball and football information and news is mainly written in Chinese... Antonytse (talk) 12:57, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
              • But this is English Wikipedia. Primary topics may be different in different languages. Number 57 13:00, 29 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment: I think some of you may think that "Eastern Football Team" is not an official name because of the term "Football Team" is very rarely used as an official name of a professional football club, but it is officially used. From HKFA website, the name "Eastern A.A. Football Team" (meaning Eastern Athletic Association Football Team) is used. (Link) The name "Eastern Football Team" is used in the old logo before the club wants to use a single brand to describe both the Eastern Football Team and the Eastern Basketball Team. (Old logo on German wiki). The name "Eastern Athletic Association Football Team Limited" is registered as the company name of the football team. • Oppose - Just modify the article accordingly. STSC (talk) 13:29, 31 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Re: RM edit

As of today, HKFA use Eastern A.A Football Team [sic], while the AFC used Eastern SC. For common name, the dominant English language newspaper of Hong Kong, South China Morning Post, used "Eastern" only [1] or the sponsored name "Eastern Long Lions " [2]. In lieu with other article such as South China AA and Sing Tao SC, the club article may worth to move to Eastern SC. Matthew hk (talk) 00:16, 25 December 2018 (UTC)Reply
