Talk:EUR, Rome

Rename to "EUR, Rome" edit

I can't imagine very many people from EUR know what the letters stand for, and even if they did everyone just calls the place EUR. — Blue-Haired Lawyer t 12:05, 22 December 2010 (UTC)Reply

EUR, RomeEUR – This is the only article which is actually called EUR. The other are just abbreviations for the full names. While EUR was originally an abbreviation, the original words have mostly been forgotten and the district is simply known as EUR. That EUR is an abbreviation for euro can be dealt with with a hat note. Not all currency codes redirect the their respective currencies (see IEP, CAD and FRF for examples). — Blue-Haired Lawyer t 19:24, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose IEP and FRF are dead currencies, the Computer Aided Design is clearly more important than the Canadian Dollar and I think the Euro currency is more important than this article.
  • Strong oppose it is not WP:PRIMARYUSAGE. The Euro is clearly the primary usage, since this is a currency symbol for it. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 04:27, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
The currency can't be the primary topic as the currency isn't called EUR and it's symbol is €, not EUR. — Blue-Haired Lawyer t 14:24, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
The primary topic of 007 is James Bond (character), even though the article is not called "007" and there exists 007 (disambiguation), where several other things have article names "007". The fact that the primary topic has multiple names means that the article has to reside at some name, not necessarily the same as base name you would seem to indicate. Primary usage and WP:COMMONNAME are not the same issue. Clearly EUR is used as a currency code, the same way that RMB, USD are. 70.24.251.71 (talk) 15:52, 10 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose and Speedy close per WP:SNOW. "The fact that an article has a different title is not a factor in determining whether a topic is primary"[1]. The primary topic for EUR, if there is one, is the currency. --Born2cycle (talk) 00:24, 13 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

Infobox, template edit

The infobox and template here were to an article on the (cancelled) 1942 World Fair; this page is about the (extant) business district of Rome. as we already have an article on the World Fair, (here), I've moved them there. I've added a more suitable infobox also. I trust that is OK with everyone. Moonraker12 (talk) 19:29, 9 May 2015 (UTC)Reply
