Not the smallest town edit

Cranbrook cannot be the smallest town in Kent as Fordwich in Kent is the smallest town in England. See Fordwich —Preceding unsigned comment added by Franksm (talkcontribs) 10:17, 30 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

It is the smallest town to be recorded in the books. To be recorded in the books it takes a long time . So at thr moment cranbrook stands as the smallest town . MaxSmith02 (talk) 10:33, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
@MaxSmith02:What does "recorded in the books" mean? Fordwich is in the Guinness Book of Records, it is famous for having a town council and only being a few hundred people. The Cranbrook claim is based on some kind of functional recognition by the county council in modern times - the claim is based on the Kent Structure Plan which is bound to be more utilitarian than the historical claim by Fordwich that goes back centuries. For planning purposes Fordwich is like a village, even though it is a town - and the Structure Plan is only interested in planning purposes.Le Deluge (talk) 15:37, 9 March 2017 (UTC)Reply
