Talk:Coroner (band)

Untitled edit

I've deleted/amended the erroneous references to Harris Johns producing Coroner's first three LPs, and making a hash of them. For the record Johns only produced RIP and did a pretty good job of it. The band never sounded quite as sparky as they did on their debut.

Punishment For Decadence was produced by Guy Bidmead, and the sound is indeed pretty duff.

No More Color was produced by Pete Hinton and the band and in terms of production is a marked improvement over Punishment For Decadence if not scaling the heights of RIP.

Coroner for the most part (as most bands on the Noise roster - reference Tom G. Fisher's book "Are You Morbid?") suffered from budget production, the quality picking up at "Mental Vortex" and "Grin", their last two proper studio albums. Harris Johns was executive producer on the first 3 records. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.240.186.21 (talk) 21:19, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

Coroner as CF's Crew edit

All the rubbish about Coroner being the Road Crew for Celtic Frost is rubbish. Unless there is some DEFINITE proof about it I'd say that line should be taken out.

This is not at ALL "rubbish" !!!!!!!!! For those who are into this scene a bit longer than the last couple of days, it's a FACT! Tom Warrior (singer/guitarist of Celtic Frost) even sang on Coroner's first demo-tape.... ("Spectators Of Sin" that is, the first song on the tape) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.212.55.220 (talkcontribs)

Tom G. (Warrior) Fisher also verifies that Marky Edelmann (Marquis Marky - Coroner's drummer) is a roadie for Celtic Frost. The proof is in the book "Are You Morbid" by Tom G. Fisher. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.240.186.21 (talk) 21:14, 13 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

power trio's rubbish live edit

What a load of twaddle, Motorhead the archetypal power trio, are also one of the best live bands in the world, sure coroner might not have come across brilliantly live to balme that on the format is just too simplistic —Preceding unsigned comment added by Alunphillips (talkcontribs) 22:57, 10 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

I suggest that anyone gets the East Berlin clips over youtube to make yourself an idea, Coroner was a more than able band live.Choronzon (talk) 17:28, 26 July 2010 (UTC)Reply

Evolution and Style edit

This section does not contain a single reference: I think a few are needed in order to give this part at least a little credibility. 94.7.234.193 (talk) 15:23, 23 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

FWIW, there is a Coroner video interview from 1989 that names punk and classical music as influence. Bevidsthed (talk) 17:59, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply

ron royce edit

He is not in the band line-up but constanly refrenced! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 217.103.229.201 (talk) 03:54, 10 August 2017 (UTC)Reply

Actually, Ron Royce is in the band line-up. This can be seen on the albums, where his name is mentioned. Bevidsthed (talk) 17:58, 20 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
