Quality

Hi, have changed the phrase 'poor quality' to 'simplistic'. Saying its poor quality sounds like POV to me - and I know thats an opinion because I love those comics. 59.95.230.161 20:01, 1 March 2007 (UTC)

Artist credits

"The writers and artists are uncredited as is usual for D.C Thomson comics."

This is wrong, it's normal for writers to be uncredited, but artists are allowed to sign their work if they wish. Most Beano and Dandy material is signed nowadays. (Ken Harrison, Tom Paterson, Nigel Parkinson, etc) Digifiend 12:14, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Glorifying allied soldiers

I was wondering abut the phrase about "glorifying allied soldiers" while its true most of the "good guys" are allied soldiers there also good Germans, Japaneses etc just as they have stories abut evil Allied soldiers. Indeed, in many stories, the "good guy" and "bad guy" are on the same side, and the enemy are more or less incedental to the story, something to provide the danger which either forces the two further apart, or demands they work together. Contributers credits

Commando did start allowing artists to sign the first or last page a few years ago, but have now added a "grenade" on the first page with the writer, artist, cover artist and original publication date (in the instance of reprints). This started quite recently, i could have a dig and find the 'first' issue it started in (though they are released 4 at a time so really there where four "first" issues it appeared in, but whichever of the four had the lowest number had better be counted as it might get confusing) 89.31.50.92 (talk) 22:14, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

stories

I know of one story that was spread over 2 books with a cliffhanger between the two (it was about a spy in Napoleon's time), but usually even the 'series' stories can be read on their own - for instance the Ramsey's Raiders stories and the ones about Ferret, the Victorian journalist. In the 90's there was also a series of stories about futuristic "gladiators" called G-tex who would fight in virtual reality, one of these was recently reprinted on it's own. 86.159.20.144 (talk) 20:33, 7 May 2011 (UTC)

the Finnish version

It might be in place to mention, that the title of Korkeajännitys includes a wordplay: jännitys means indeed tension, but also thrills and suspense; the related word jännite means (electric) voltage, and korkeajännite is high voltage. Other languages, apart from Finnish

I knew for a fact that Commando was published in Danish, since I have a score of them somewhere in my parents' cellar. Have now checked the www for information. The series ran in Danish from 1961 to 1993, published in 732 issues by now closed publisher Interpresse. http://comicwiki.dk/wiki/Commando-serien. It definitely appeared in Hindi in the past. It has also been published in Tamil (another language of India). There's quite an extensive blog about Tamil comics, in both Tamil and English, which I found once. Apparently there has been a more recent move to publish Commando in India, by a company with a name like "4kidz". I don't know what language they will be published in, but it could be English. I know that other Indian comics are published in English (for instance Tinkle and Campfire Comics), as the language is spoken right across the country in addition to "local" languages. Commando has also been published in Arabic in the past (I'm not sure which country it was in, possibly Egypt). I have heard of some picture libraries being published in Spain, crudely reformatted into a "normal" comic size, with 6 panels on a page, but those might not have been Commando. 81.135.99.169 (talk) 18:50, 26 August 2012 (UTC)

The article, under "Publication history", says "Since 1971 there have been eight issues published per month", which is more or less correct.
