Talk:Cladding

The second meaning, "A process of covering one metal with another [...]", doesn't have a link associated with it, even though this is a disambiguation page, and I'm too ignorant on the topic to write an article. Should anything be done about it? Should I attempt a stub article? I was intending to link to it from copper-clad aluminum wire -- intgr 19:28, 29 January 2006 (UTC)Reply

  • Sometimes, the articles are short, so they fit in a disambiguation page. But I would say, have a go at the stub page. --203.206.245.238 00:00, 22 May 2006 (UTC)Reply

Proposed split edit

While I understand that cladding refers to "the covering of one material with another", I believe there is enough differences in the individual applications of cladding for each topic to be covered independently. For instance, there are many different types of cladding in metalworking. Wizard191 (talk) 16:03, 2 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Do you really think there will be someone who is going to expand those into full articles? Even this merged article is quite short and vague. -- intgr [talk] 09:06, 4 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
You are right that the individual sections are short, but I think the problem is that they aren't split up. I feel that editors would be more willing to expand a stub that is explicitly on the topic they are searching for. I know that eventually I would get around to an article on cladding metal.
