Given the presence of an x-file in Nine Board Chess, one should probably use the colon to mark captures (e.g. B:x4) to avoid confusion. (This pleases me slightly because that's how I write it IRL.) Additionally, one should probably use F for ferz and V for wazir, to avoid a collision with W for the WFA. Double sharp (talk) 10:46, 14 February 2016 (UTC)

Also, to match the letters, I would suggest (obviously outside WP) the following nomenclature for the pieces: duke (FD), watchman (WFA), rose (qN), archbishop (NB), chancellor (RN), jester (NLJ). ("Watchman" because it is an augmented man, WF; "duke" as it is a title that starts with D. These also well match the Omega chess symbols used to represent the duke, watchman, and jester: the jester/fool is a perfect match, the watchman/champion a close one, and I suppose this duke must have a moon as his heraldic device. I know that for problemists "duke" means something else, but the same is true for "archbishop" anyway. I didn't want to use "wizard", as it means FL in Omega Chess.)
