The league’s Board of Governors has approved the following conference alignment for the 2010-11 season:

What are we doing with the IHL wikipedia page? This reads merger of leagues more than affiliation. It looks like the IHL merged into the CHL to me. Bhockey10 (talk) 21:13, 13 July 2010 (UTC)

CHL/IHL Two Year Agreement

Did the IHL merge with the CHL or did the IHL fold? Merging two leagues together and a league folding are both different. The CHL page keeps changing all the time. 174.252.76.29 (talk) 11:53, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

At the time, it was claimed to be a cooperative agreement or a merger (depending on whose website and press releases you credited), and the IHL stated that it would maintain its own existence. The old IHL teams promptly claimed to be "CHL" teams - the Komets, at about two months, held out the longest - and the IHL offices and website shut down in short order. To be honest I don't know because mostly every hockey editor is an administrator. Stay away from editing hockey articles. It's not worth it. Edit baseball articles only.Phila Flyers Fan (talk) 12:14, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

This comment makes no sense whatsoever. But if you would rather edit baseball articles, feel free, although you will find if you start to do so that the baseball articles likewise have editors who choose wording and interpretations which will often differ from yours. Instead of saying that the league merged with the International Hockey League and the effect was for the IHL's Bloomington, Dayton, Evansville, Fort Wayne and Quad City franchises to join the CHL and the IHL quietly folded thereafter, how about this:

On June 1, 2010, the CHL announced that it would enter a two year collaboration agreement with the International Hockey League with four teams from the IHL joining the CHL which are the Bloomington PrairieThunder the Dayton Gems, the Fort Wayne Komets and the Quad City Mallards and having the IHL suspending play while maintaining it's operations while their franchises play in the CHL. On May 17, 2012, the two year collaboration agreement ended with the Evansville, Fort Wayne and Quad City franchises surviving and the Bloomington, Dayton franchises folding. The Bloomington PraireThunder was replaced by a new franchise that was under contract by the CHL, the Bloomington Blaze. The Evansville and Fort Wayne franchises joined the ECHL while the Quad City Mallards remained in the CHL. With the ending of the two year collaboration agreement, the CHL dropped to 11 teams for the 2012-13 season and the IHL folded for good.

I approve of the tweaking of the UHL article, but I think 2012 is the proper year when the IHL officially folded which is why I used suspended play in 2010 while still in business during the collaboration agreement until the agreement ended. Phila Flyers Fan (talk) 18:12, 26 May 2012 (UTC)

The IHL league offices closed, and the website went dark, within two months of the "agreement." That's going out of business by anyone's standard, and the notion that the passing of a certain date on a forgotten piece of paper had any impact one way or another would simply be contrary to the facts. It isn't worth arguing with him, he gets hung up on very mundane details and then tries to overly complicate the article and tries to sock to get his way. To make info as short as possible, I proposed this about CHL/IHL effect.

On June 1, 2010, the league announced that four teams from the International Hockey League would join the CHL. The IHL's Bloomington, Dayton, Fort Wayne and Quad City franchises joined the CHL and the IHL ceased operations.

Fort Worth Brahmas

Yes, a FB page (the team seems to have THREE) and a fan forum I just looked over were dripping with gloom. That being said, the team has made no announcement on its website. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram hasn't said a word. The league hasn't made any changes to its website, nor announcements on the subject. Until a reliable source says that the team has folded, the team's status here shouldn't change. Ravenswing 07:35, 11 June 2013 (UTC)

– With the league being defunct for seven years now, it is doubtful as to whether or not this 1992-2014 league is still the primary usage of the name.
