Buildings nearby but not attached edit

The word appendage has been applied to the 'close' of a cathedral i.e. buildings nearby. This is incorrect since the connotation of appendage is something attached. For instance, the Salisbury Cathedral Close is a group of buildings to the north of the cathedral grounds but not attached to the cathedral itself. I have found that appurtenance or adjunct are more apt in this sense. Appurtenance seems about right so I have changed appendage to 'appurtenant to'. Dangnad (talk) 21:16, 14 November 2013 (UTC)Reply
