Anyone know if centavos still officially exist? The current set of coins doesn't include them, so it would be impossible to exchange them by hand. Tanketz 00:15, 18 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Check the Central Bank information, they do not say they issue centavo coins but the escudo officially is still sub-divided by them. And at 110 to the euro, inflation would have ruled out their use.Enlil Ninlil 06:10, 18 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

Cape Verdean escudoCabo Verdean escudo – Cape Verde recently changed its official English name to Cabo Verde. According this this (http://unterm.un.org/DGAACS/unterm.nsf/WebView/1F9DB6C32C43848085256DC700440A1E?OpenDocument) UN page, the currency name also changed. • Oppose – a recent change of official name is never a reason for Wikipedia to move an article. We go by what a topic is commonly called. If that changes, we can move at that time. Dicklyon (talk) 07:27, 22 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Support, but there are hundreds of articles that need editing and renaming to comply, so it seems odd that only this one is listed... Kevin McE (talk) 10:05, 22 December 2013 (UTC)Reply
  • Oppose We are not obliged to follow "official English names", see Ivory Coast for a long-standing dispute. If you do want to change this, I suggest you first raise this at Cape Verde, and if it is moved change other articles accordingly, but I think the consensus would probably be against this.
