Requested move 24 March 2019 edit

Moved as proposed. As noted in the discussion, the slash is unavoidable in the overwhelming common name of the topic. bd2412 T 00:57, 9 April 2019 (UTC)Reply

CNN Sports IllustratedCNN/SI – Actual name of the network. The "SI" came from Sports Illustrated, which was a corporate sister to CNN at the time, but the network's name didn't spell it out. The slash is correct, even if it was omitted from the attached website's URL for technical reasons. oknazevad (talk) 01:40, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Reply

  •   COMMENT WP:SLASH/WP:SUBPAGE -- avoid slashes where possible in article page names -- 70.51.201.106 (talk) 04:38, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Comment "CNNSI" is what the logo in the infobox shows. CNNSI redirects here; avoids the problem with slashes in URLs and MediaWiki's interpretation of what that means. -- 70.51.201.106 (talk) 08:00, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
    • Re: to comment WP:SLASH is unavoidable when the subject is actually titled with a slash, like Victor/Victoria, Frost/Nixon and others. In this case, it is properly slashed, as seen in the refs, including the one from CNN themselves. The logo styling should not be taken definitively, as has been reinforced many, many times on Wikipedia. oknazevad (talk) 12:14, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
  • Support - The initialism with the slash is most commonly-used in sources referring to the network, and per WP:NCBC#Networks, shortened forms or initialisms of their business names ... should be the primary way of naming the article. CNNSI (without the slash) seems to only be used when referring to the cnnsi.com website. -- Netoholic @ 19:54, 24 March 2019 (UTC)Reply
