took out the word "unusually" because it's not unusual at all, and hasn't been since the mid 80s

Memoirs of the Elephantman was self-released an peddled hand-to-hand on CDRs in 1999.

i'ma delete that style section edit

unless you guys can actually come up with some citations about how "unique", surrealist and dadaist his style is. it seems like there is a lot of original research in this article. Cats AND hats (talk) 04:51, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

i'm actually going to just go ahead and fix this article right now. it's really really bad. Cats AND hats (talk) 04:52, 20 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

I don't understand where I have to write this but I'm really astonished that in the music style "Grime" is not mentionned... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 81.57.84.15 (talk) 13:57, 2 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

There's no speak of his musical evolution, such as him practicing freestyles over jazz instrumentals when he was a part of Project Blowed. This seems like a vital part of his evolution as an artist and cultivation of his sound. <AV Club Busdriver></https://music.avclub.com/busdriver-1798229666>MichaelJFleming (talk) 12:55, 9 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Removed Controversy section edit

Removed "Controversy" section for not adhering with BLP policy - contentious material poorly sourced. Though Consequence of Sound could be considered reliable, their articles on the matter just quote or paraphrase Twitter or Reddit on the allegations - thus primary and self-published sources WP:RSSELF. The rapper's reaction is sourced through Twitter and Tumbrl links, also primary and self-published. Since the significant views cannot be backed by reliable sources, there is not sufficient NPOV or Verifiablility.

  • As the section has been restored since I removed it, and as no other editors have discussed the content here, I've requested input at the appropriate noticebord. Wapunguissa (talk) 10:52, 21 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
    • I actually wasn't restoring the previous section, but independently writing my own section. I didn't see that someone else had written similar things in the page history until after the edit was reverted. I too, would like guidance on this from a third party. I figured ConsequenceOfSound was a reasonably reliable source, especially with regards to their paraphrasing of Busdriver's own self-published material, which is allowed under WP:BLPSPS. I agree that this is a sticky area, and perhaps it'll be easiest to simply wait until the investigation Busdriver referenced is released. So far as I can tell, ConsequenceOfSound is the only article that's really reported on this, though their first article on the matter involves an interview directly with one of the accusers, which makes it more significant IMO. I don't know, someone help us out. - - mathmitch7 (talk/contribs) 23:06, 22 June 2018 (UTC)Reply
In the overall spirit of WP:BLP, the default is to not include information if there is a question about whether they may be unsubstantiated rumors that have not been widely reported by published reliable sources, and this burden is heightened when they are serious criminal accusations.
