Citation needed

Looks like someone wrote that Mehldau has Asperger's. While this is certainly possible, seems like we should have a citation, or we should take it out. Anyone able to find one? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 148.85.202.246 (talk) 01:18, 17 December 2007 (UTC)

In addition, the citation to Mehldau playing with "Jackie McLean, Nipsey Russell and Jimmy Cobb" no longer works. Nipsey Russell? While entirely plausible, an updated citation is needed. Otherwise, yank it.

List of albums and songs

Photo

Sorry about the odd edits here. I've been trying to figure out how to add a reasonably sized photo to the page. I uploaded bradmehldau-publicity page.jpg from bradmehldau.com but then, when I tried to add it, I found that it was about the size of Kansas and that seems too large. Mention of John Mayer in Biography

I feel it is unnecessary to mention the set performed with John Mayer. Throughout Mehldau's career, he has performed with musicians that are far more notable than Mayer. Why single out Mayer? Because he is a pop icon? I've removed it. If the general consensus is that it belongs there then by all means add it back.

In August 2010 Mehldau joined John Mayer on stage at the Hollywood Bowl for a short duo set. Birth mother

I see. I'm not aware of a policy against including that sort of content. However, the question is: why include it? Relevant policies on that, if needed, are WP:DUE and WP:VNOT. Based on his description, it affected his adolescence/youth (unsurprisingly), but I don't remember him identifying it as a major factor in his later life. I also don't know of other sources that have stressed this facet of his life. EddieHugh (talk) 17:05, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

I haven't yet read the book (it's on the way), but in an interview I heard with him, he attributed the abuse as a reason for making him feel more like an outsider, making him shy and reluctant to approach jazz musicians in clubs, and a reason for his drinking and heroin usage. toobigtokale (talk) 19:00, 29 August 2023 (UTC)

The wording came from the host and isn't 100% clear, he said something about how Mehldau's childhood traumas led to the things I mentioned earlier, so I figured it was a factor toobigtokale (talk) 20:36, 3 September 2023 (UTC)
