What is the basis of the statement "Caution is advised when using boswellic acids as dietary supplements, given the link between large doses of Boswellia extract and liver damage?" A recent article indicates in fact boswellic acids may have a hepatoprotective effect. Structure

Acetyl-alpha-boswellic acid and acetyl-beta-boswellic acid, C32H50O4, replace the hydroxyl group with an acetyl group - that should be "replace the hydroxyl group with an acetoxyl group" or "replace the hydrogen of the hydroxyl group with an acetyl group" 2607:FB91:803:8310:E9FD:434C:981C:F0FA (talk) 18:12, 19 September 2023 (UTC)
