Please explain parenthetical material edit

Could someone please add to the Biography section an explanation of the parenthesized material: e.g. (3rd URS-ch), (5th M-ch), (1st it). Sbowers3 12:31, 5 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

  • Good point. We should decide how to handle this in general. In the two specific cases you list, I believe they refer to the USSR Chess Championship and the Moscow Championship. Quale 20:32, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply

Comments unnecessary edit

The comments under notable games are unnecessary and detract from the article, especially as they are inaccurate. The win against Rubinstein was not brilliant, Rubinstein was winning until move 50. Against Capablanca Verlinsky should have won a miniature with 14...Bb5. And there is no need to describe Berlinsky's 'tactical victory' against Alekhine as 'tasty' (which Alekhine blundered away on the last move). Siorale 12:19, 25 September 2007 (UTC)Reply
