Candidates table edit

Currently there are eight candidates on the candidate list only four of which have (to date) received enough valid nomination signatures to appear on the official ballot. This should be made clearer either by colour coding or ranking candidates in order of number of valid nomination signatures received so that its clear to readers which candidates look set to actually make it to the ballot paper. Also the article should make it whether the others are set to be completely excluded from the process or if there is a "write in" procedure ? 2.123.243.182 (talk) 12:10, 11 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Done. Number 57 12:48, 11 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
Nice one but it would have better to rank by VALID rather than SUBMITTED signatures. Tereshchenko is still ranked ahead of Nestsyarkov on the table even though only the latter is on the official ballot. The article should also explain why the former had so many nomination signatures declared invalid. The fate of the four disqualified candidates also needs explanation. Is there still time for them to obtain further signatures or has the deadline passed ? Is there any process whereby Tereshchenko can dispute/overturn his disqualification. Is there a procedure in Belarus where the disqualified candidates could still contest the election as "write in" candidates ? 2.123.243.182 (talk) 15:18, 11 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
I've reordered the candidates, and also made the table sortable. If you know why Tereshchenko had so many disqualified, perhaps you could add it to the article? I haven't seen anything that says why. I don't believe Belarusian elections have write-in votes, although I think there is an "against all" option. Number 57 17:09, 11 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

BPP edit

The article on the Belarussian Patriots Party says it is defunct, but here it apparently came in fourth. So I would presume that in some sense at least the party continues to exist? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Threadnecromancer (talkcontribs)

I've updated the article. Number 57 19:57, 13 October 2015 (UTC)Reply

Great Idea? edit

The option for voters to vote "Against all" seems to work in Belarus, but it might prove disastrous in the US: Against All would often be the winning candidate. What would happen then? Perhaps the office would have to be abolished. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2604:2D80:8821:0:4CCF:439B:D346:A65D (talk) 07:42, 20 October 2015 (UTC)Reply
