connections edit

Abbythecat (talk) 03:32, 31 January 2015 (UTC)Ever wonder how many TV shows connect to BATMAN? I can't count them all. But I'll start, and if some people add to the list, it might qualify for the article page. OK, BATMAN connects to GREEN HORNET (which MAY connect to LONE RANGER); because Batman meets Jose Jimenez, that connects it to THE BILL DANA SHOW, THE DANNY THOMAS HOUR, MAKE ROOM FOR DADDY, and, through these, MAKE ROOM FOR GRANDADDY, ANDY GRIFFITH, GOMER PYLE, MAYBERRY RFD, JOEY BISHOP, DESILU PLAYHOUSE (as Jose met Danny who met Lucy), and the DESILU spin-offs, TWILIGHT ZONE and UNTOUCHABLES. Through ZONE comes EARLY EDITION, which brings in MARTIAL LAW and WALKER, TEXAS RANGER. Now, Jose met Danny, who met Buddy, so we then go to DICK VAN DYKE, and Rob was on DIAGNOSIS: MURDER, so that brings in JAKE AND THE FAT MAN, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE, MANNIX, PROMISED LAND, TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL, and MATLOCK. And Buddy's boss was on MAD ABOUT YOU. Lucy met SUPERMAN, so ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN counts. That's about 27 shows so far. And this isn't counting variety shows, cartoons, or the "nameless window cameos" (Lurch, Klink, Sam Stone from FELONY SQUAD). I know there are more. Anyone? The "Cast" section is seriously missing a list of those who appeared in "window cameos." Wastrel Way (talk) Eric

Missing someone on list of villains edit

Joan Collins played the villainess, the Siren, who with a certain voice pitch was able to entrance any man. Not sure what season(s) she appeared.50.191.163.101 (talk) 15:36, 15 March 2015 (UTC)Reply

This article is misleading edit

I feel this article is largely concerned with defending the definition of the show as a sitcom but does little to provide information people like myself want to know: namely, the origins of the show: the how and why the show came into existence! MARK VENTURE (talk) 19:51, 12 September 2017 (UTC)Reply

It does address the origins of the show in detail further (to a greater degree) down in the article under "Production", probably farther (a greater distance) down than one might expect. 2601:545:8202:4EA5:68EC:F477:8BA6:CBEC (talk) 21:12, 29 October 2017 (UTC)Reply

Distribution rights to the Batman TV series edit

The future of the distribution rights to the Batman TV series is in question because most of the assets of 21st Century Fox have been purchased by the Walt Disney Company. This is the article I'm talking about: https://thewaltdisneycompany.com/walt-disney-company-acquire-twenty-first-century-fox-inc-spinoff-certain-businesses-52-4-billion-stock-2/ I believe the distribution rights to the TV series should be transferred to Warner Bros. Television Distribution. AdamDeanHall (talk) 22:15, 13 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

New owner of batmobile edit

There has been a new owner of the batmobile who purchased it in 2016. Review the website on batmobile timeline.

Warner Bros. Television Distribution edit

Last Friday, The Walt Disney Company bought 21st Century Fox. This is what I'm talking about: https://www.thewrap.com/fox-disney-shareholders-vote-approve-merger/ I think the rights to the 1960s TV series Batman should now belong to Warner Bros. Television Distribution. AdamDeanHall (talk) 13:22, 3 August 2018 (UTC)Reply

The New Batman Adventures reprisal edit

It's been a while since I saw it, but didn't West and Ward reunite to voice Batman and Robin in the first segment of the TNBA episode "Legends of the Dark Knight" which paid homage to the 66 TV series? Spartan198 (talk) 15:41, 3 September 2018 (UTC)Reply

Burt Ward memories edit

Quote from Burt Ward on Fox 411, telling of meeting Julie Newmar (Catwoman): “[She was] very tall,” he recalled. “Oh my gosh. I think she was 6’3”. Adam was 6’5”. And they put three-inch heels on him to make him bigger. I’m only 5’8” and they took off the heels of my shoes. And Alan Napier, our butler Alfred, was [6’6”]. So there were all these giant people around and I’m the… short guy. In comparison to Julie, to Adam, I was tiny!” He goes on to say that while Adam West had a stuntman, the man they got for him looked nothing like him so he ended up doing his own stunts, with many visits to the doctor.(185.181.236.222 (talk) 19:55, 31 October 2018 (UTC))Reply

Retconned Names edit

The television show did not use most of the names we now associate with the characters as they were not in use then. For example, the butler was only ever called "Alfred." His surname "Pennyworth" was not introduced in the comics until 1969, one year after the show left the air. Commissioned Gordon was not known by the first name "James" on the program. Chief O'Hara had no first name, and The Riddler, Penguin and Joker, etc., were only know by those names. I have edited back and forth with a few people who want these pages to show those names. I'm of the opinion we should only use "on-screen" information for articles about this program and its characters. But... I'm no longer willing to engage in reversions, so... :) Sir Rhosis (talk) 20:36, 20 October 2019 (UTC)Reply

Vigilante edit

The article describes Batman as a "vigilante",which may be true in the comics, but in this series Batman & Robin are duly deputised officers of the law. I propose changing the word "vigilante" to "crime fighter". RJ4 (talk) 05:43, 25 November 2021 (UTC)Reply

+1 for this. Just Another Cringy Username (talk) 06:12, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Other Recurring Elements edit

This section is basically a list of trivia such as you'd find on the Trivia tab of an IMDB entry. This article was one of my first edits before I registered this username and I farmed out some of the details to other sections, but left the unsorted catchall stuff and added the "excessive detail" tag. I'd just as soon delete the whole thing as it doesn't add anything substantive to the article. Just Another Cringy Username (talk) 06:14, 7 February 2022 (UTC)Reply

Comic Story Adaptations edit

This section is a laundry list of various episodes which happen to have something in common w/ storylines from the comics. I see lots of vague terms like "uses elements from" and "inspired by." Can anyone find any direct evidence of the writers mining the comics for story fodder? If not, this whole list is pure speculation based on nothing more than "Hey, this kinda reminds me of..."
