Removed

I removed the claim about the logo being perceived as the mark of the beast. The linked page appears to be an American page discussing (small-b) bank cards with chips in them, not the (big B) Bankcard. novakreo (talk) 12:04, 21 August 2008 (UTC)

I removed the whole "Popular culture" section, which claimed some people believed the Bankcard logo to be the mark of the beast. Apparently the 'B' in the logo looked like 3 sixes. The section had only one weak reference and I can't find anything else online to support it.Wikipeterproject (talk) 21:54, 19 August 2009 (UTC)

Social Impact

When I started tidying up the article, I came across several newspaper articles online that discussed the social impact of Bankcard in Australia after its release in the early 1970s. I don't have time at the moment, but if anyone wants to research this and start a new section, I'd be thrilled! Comment That would be a waste of real estate. Put the credit card article at Bankcard and change its hatnote to {{this|the credit card|bank card}}. That will avoid having an article title dabnote. Miracle Pen (talk) 17:25, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
