Removed edit

I removed the link to the former bankcard website. Why have a link to an inactive website? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 58.168.172.27 (talk) 01:32, 13 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

I removed the claim about the logo being perceived as the mark of the beast. The linked page appears to be an American page discussing (small-b) bank cards with chips in them, not the (big B) Bankcard. novakreo (talk) 12:04, 21 August 2008 (UTC)Reply

I removed the whole "Popular culture" section, which claimed some people believed the Bankcard logo to be the mark of the beast. Apparently the 'B' in the logo looked like 3 sixes. The section had only one weak reference and I can't find anything else online to support it.Wikipeterproject (talk) 21:54, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Social Impact edit

When I started tidying up the article, I came across several newspaper articles online that discussed the social impact of Bankcard in Australia after its release in the early 1970s. I don't have time at the moment, but if anyone wants to research this and start a new section, I'd be thrilled! Otherwise I might get around to it later.Wikipeterproject (talk) 21:48, 19 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bankcard (credit card)Bankcard

Comment That would be a waste of real estate. Put the credit card article at Bankcard and change its hatnote to {{this|the credit card|bank card}}. That will avoid having an article title dabnote. Miracle Pen (talk) 17:25, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Support Only one Bankcard, which redirects to Bankcard (credit card) anyway, so no need to disambiguate and we already treat as the primary topic. The suggested amendment to the hatnote sounds perfectly adequate. Skinsmoke (talk) 19:27, 18 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
  • Redirect bankcard to the dab page, bank card, since people outside of New Zealand/Australia will clearly not know this. 76.66.193.119 (talk) 05:25, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
Comment That's the purpose the of the hatnote; there's no need for a title dab. Miracle Pen (talk) 06:56, 19 July 2010 (UTC)Reply
