EeeBuntu is now the Aurora OS edit

the site now redirects to Aurora G. Robert Shiplett 04:41, 1 July 2010 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Grshiplett (talkcontribs)

Actually, it doesn't. http://forum.eeebuntu.org/ and http://forum.auroraos.org/ both show the same content, http://eebuntu.org/ and http://www.eebuntu.org/ have no DNS record pointing to a server, http://www.auroraos.org/ returns a standard IIS under construction page (there is a server there, but no web page), and http://auroraos.org/ brings you to the Auroraos web page. now the http://auroraos.org/ pointing to forbidden page. fabore 21 April 2015.

Aurora OS vs Avrora OS (based now on Sailfish OS!) edit

The article seems to imply that Avrora and Aurora are different Systems, and hints at Avrora being based on Sailfish OS. However, in Russian "Avrora" is actually how "Aurora" is spelled when using latin script. This is most likely a confusion, they are the same OS. Ferk (talk) 11:31, 27 August 2019 (UTC)Reply

eeeBuntu vs Aurora Names edit

I went looking to download Aurora for my eeePC and I couldn't find a download link for it. I could only find download links for eeeBuntu. I'm assuming this means the version where they changed the name to Aurora isn't out yet (or at least the stable release isn't). The article led me to believe that the name of the distro was recently changed to Aurora when the last stable release came out (eeeBuntu 3.0 I believe). Perhaps some clarification is needed? Outdated Information edit

Some of the information in this article appears to be outdated. For example, it says "newer versions will be based on Debian" with a link to a Oct 17, 2009 post on eeebuntu.org, but a newer version was released as a beta on Feb 12, 2010. Also notable is from the standpoint of tracking progress on the project is a Jun 13, 2010 post announcing a "full rebranding, new sites, new servers and release of this projects new name" and a Jan 04, 2011 post (http://forum.auroraos.org/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=6168&sid=528ecf9159eedf4c8f199a77d9217703) announcing more progress.

Given the history of this project (not abandoned, ongoing progress with long gaps, a series of optimistic announcements of developments that didn't happen when projected), I propose that the article be rewritten to only include things that have actually happened, and that no announcements by the developers regarding future developments be included until they actually happen.

Also, it appears that every link to eeebuntu.org works fine if you substitute auroraos.org in the URL, so I suggest that we standardize on the new domain name. Guy Macon 19:20, 4 January 2011 (UTC)Reply
