This article needs some development - no mention of the 19th century Act in the UK abolishing attainder proper.
Was this act retrospective - ie were claims of persons who had been attainted in the past automatically "activated"? (If not this would invalidate the "heirs of George, Duke of Clarence being the monarch of England" argument) Jackiespeel 13:50, 13 April 2007 (UTC)
Should the last word of this sentence be victim or criminal/alleged/etc? "United States by the Constitution forbids the punishment for treason from working corruption of blood; but common crimes can have similar results because in many states under slayer rule, even innocent relatives of an alleged slayer can be forbidden from inheriting from the victim."

Presumably the removal of attainder as a punishment did not retroactively apply to those attaindered/there was no provision for getting it reversed (and the situation with regard to George Duke of Clarence's current descendants). Jackiespeel (talk) 17:05, 8 February 2016 (UTC)

I've removed this word from the lead section because no citation is provided to assert that a) it exists, b) it's part of English law, and c) it has the same meaning as 'attainder '. Hairy Dude (talk) 13:52, 28 December 2022 (UTC)
