White House Blues

Charlie Poole and the North Carolina Ramblers recorded a song called "White House Blues" about the McKinley assassination. It has been covered by many groups. Notably Bill Monroe recorded a breakneck paced version, and it is this version that is most imitated.

I have a question. Most of the song is historically accurate enough but there is a verse-- Doc on his horse. Threw down the reins. Said to the horse you've got to outrun that train.

What is this in reference to? Nothing in the article tells me.

Should have a reference to the song in the article. Conscientia (talk) 05:03, 30 March 2024 (UTC)Reply

Great article edit

I have never put together the sequence of American presidents assassinated before. This article does it nicely in the very first short paragraph. Next was John F. Kennedy. Krok6kola (talk) 20:14, 13 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
