Against Merging edit

Arriva is a subject in its own right, however there are subsections to Arriva in the way of the districts it serves - ie Arriva Yorkshire. These should not be merged completely but related as they are now.

Bus routes??!?! edit

I see someone appears to have started listing individual Arriva bus routes. I'm horrified. I don't think this is the sort of thing which should be included in an encyclopaedia at all -- apart from the fact that it'd be a never-ending task, bus routes change, get franchised to different operators, route numbers are not unique, and in any case I think this article should be a high-level article about the company -- not the minutiae which should be obtained from their timetable. -- Arwel 11:00, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)

I transferred it here from another article that's going to be deleted - please move it somewhere more appropriate. --SPUI 11:09, 23 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Splitting article edit

The Arriva Trains Wales, Arriva Trains Northern and Arriva Trains Merseyside could all be split into different articles and the content expanded to included links to routes worked, rolling stock used etc. Our Phellap 20:35, 17 Jun 2005 (UTC)

Against merging with main Arriva article edit

The Arriva bus divisions operate almost as seperate companies, indeed AFAIK legally they are seperate companies. And due to not being in geographical neighbouring areas having individual listings for each company with more detail than could be neatly included in main Arriva article will provide more information. --Achmelvic 10:44, 13 Dec 2005 (UTC)

Against merging with main Arriva article edit

It's already the case with Stagecoach Bus and Go-Ahead Group that their individual/local operations have seperate articles. Many of the local companies have their own history attached to them (etc), which would be better located on the article of the local company. Though I don't think adding individual routes is a good idea, something along the lines of a "Major locations served" list seems like a reasonable idea to me. Against merging with main Arriva article edit

This page should not be merged into 'Arriva'. Just think, if someone wants to find infomation on Arriva Yorkshire they don't want to fish it out from a massive block of info, mostly about things they don't want. Anyway, some pages, like Arriva Southern Counties have loads of info anyway. if you merge that the page 'Arriva' would be absoulutley massive! Arriva436 10:31, 30 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:Arriva (logo).gif edit

Image:Arriva (logo).gif is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:54, 31 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Further to this (now very old) message, in the hope that some who know about Arriva are watching this talk page, I notice that the Arriva logo's being used on a whole multitude of Arriva articles - for each and every one, a separate rationale is needed, 'else it'll have to be taken off. I would go and write them, but I'm not personally convinced that they all need the logo. TheIslander 22:38, 4 October 2007 (UTC)Reply

2012 Financials edit

2012 Financials are quoted in EUR per cite.[1] As it is a subsidiary of a German company, it is likely that the accounts have been prepared in the parent company's native currency, irrespective of Arriva being headquartered in England.

Unless an alternate cite can be found quoting the financials in GBP then will need to remain in EUR.Mo7838 (talk) 09:01, 6 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Proposed merge of NoordNed into Arriva#Netherlands edit

Only ref is on NoordNed is a dead link. Other languages also lacking sources. Now part of Arriva, so perhaps reasonable to address in main article. Ost (talk) 03:06, 5 January 2022 (UTC)Reply

Support - NoordNed article is only short so content can easily be moved across. Mattdaviesfsic (talk) 17:57, 25 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oppose, plenty of cites available offline. Was separate to Arriva's other Netherlands operations that traded independently before and during NoordNed's tenure. Rozjacko (talk) 02:20, 19 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
Oppose, lack of cites issue appears to have been addressed. Zoumestein (talk) 01:21, 30 October 2022 (UTC)Reply

Operations in Sweden edit

The operations in Sweden should be moved to the former operations section because Arriva Sverige was bought by Finnish VR Group and the operations are already transferred. OlskuPe (talk) 08:38, 21 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

Arriva has been sold to I Squared Capital[1] edit

Greetings people of wikipedia, you are probably aware if reading this that Arriva is no longer owned by Deutsche Bahn, meaning the article will need editing.
