Coverage of the Controversy surrounding "Apropos of Nothing" edit

'body of 1st (signed) edit)

The controversy surrounding this book has generated an enormous amount of media coverage and op-ed pieces. A possible suggestion: We could post links to some of these articles in the "Talk" section, and then the other Wikipedia editors could decide which articles would merit being put into the main article. These articles would come from sources that fulfill the Wikipedia:RS requirement. All the sources below either have their own Wikipedia entries, or else are listed as sources in at least 10 Wikipedia articles.

About the preceding, & enclosing, top level section edit

Thanks to the colleague who contributed the earlier talk, and presumably major research and content for the accompanying article. I may have read the talk first, or quite plausibly i found nothing lacking in the article, as urgent as was applying wiki markup to this talk page. In any case, i saw here lots of good intention, and great lack of wiki-markup insight, and responded not with talk, but with reformatting. Kick me in my talk page, if i have not clearly enuf divined the ip-editor's probable intentions above on this page, and might better expose those intentions; i dunno enough about the topic, but i've got around 17 years of experience (mostly as the WP admin User:Jerzy) wielding wiki markup.

Legal and fairness issue edit

;; I’ve lost track of whether I tagged article or talk or both, re {{reckless}}{{Unreferenced}};{{legal hazard }}, but in any case,

Added links. Also dropped red flags.
It's not clear what you are asking. I grieve in stereo (talk) 02:23, 28 April 2020 (UTC)Reply

Edits by User:Antonia Tejeda Barros edit

So it appears we have an issue now where a user, User:Antonia Tejeda Barros, is attempting to unfairly represent the coverage of the subject of this article (the autobiography/memoir Apropos of Nothing) all the while decrying bias of this Wikipedia article. Recent edit summaries:

I have attempted with much detail, ever since the book was announced, to fairly represent everything that has occurred surrounding the book's publication, its reception, and its contents. It is fairly unhelpful when a user comes along and frivolously accuses a "completely BIAS against Woody" without any sort of details of what they specifically believe in this article constitutes bias. They have twice changed the reception section to read that this book has only received positive reviews, which is simply and patently false.

Now they are also attempting to add a quote from Jeannette Seaver, who founded Arcade Publishing, the publisher who has published Apropos of Nothing after it was dropped by Hachette. I'm not sure what her quote adds to the article, and it seems inappropriate to include it as well.

Thank you. I grieve in stereo (talk) 22:13, 17 May 2020 (UTC)Reply
