Trivia edit

Trivia: In the book "Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman!" while talking about a series of experiments with ants Feynman mentions that he's certain that he could create an ant mill, though he actually never did. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.228.248.68 (talk) 23:47, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Yes, I remember reading that :) However, I'm not sure how that piece of info could be integrated into the article. We cannot simply add it as trivia, per WP:TRIVIA. Do you have any suggestions? --Waldir talk 04:52, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the link to the Trivia guideline. So, the point is not to create lists of random facts, right? Since it is only a single fact I'd assume that it doesn't really matter what we call the section right now. I'd probably go with something like "Ant mills in popular culture". Though I don't remember it another one right now I'm pretty sure other references can be found in books, movies, plays etc.. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.228.248.68 (talk) 10:23, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm not sure I get it — wouldn't finding and adding other references create precisely a list, which is what's discouraged in the page I linked to? It's not merely about being a section or not, or the title of said section — it's the general principle of not having lists of "random" facts like this one. I would suggest instead integrating that into the text — for example, where it's talked about reproducing the phenomenon on a laboratory. --Waldir talk 14:07, 27 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

add an image of one on the top right? edit

i think it would be good if we added an image of an ant mill on the top right of the page. if yt thumbnails are acceptable for images on wikipedia then this image from a video by "Amaze Labs" would work well. --I said this! "contrafugally"? edit

This article contains the phrase "forming a contrafugally rotating circle." Is this a real word, or merely a typo for "centrifugally"? A google search for this word (after avoiding suggestions for the latter term) seems to only point back to this article, so I strongly suspect that this is merely a typo. Does anyone else have any insight? Shawn81 (talk) 14:24, 12 July 2023 (UTC)Reply
