Performance in Wham's Last Christmas videoclip? edit

Hi,

Shouldn't Andie MacDowells performance in the world famous videoclip of Wham, Last Christmas, be mentioned? I'am not sure, but I believe Andie features in this clip.

Greystoke and Andie Macdowell's Southern Accent... edit

As the article mentions, Andie Macdowell portrayed Jane in the movie *Greystoke*. Notoriously, her spoken dialogue was excised, supposedly because her southern accent was not appropriate for Jane. (Glenn Close was the spoken-word Jane.) This incident shows the carelessness and ignorance of the filmmakers. Not only does Macdowell have a lovely speaking voice, but the actual Jane from Edgar Rice Burrough's Tarzan series was an American Southerner--specifically, from Maryland. Burroughs described her as a "Baltimore belle." Macdowell's accent would have been perfectly appropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Younggoldchip (talkcontribs) 14:39, 3 March 2009 (UTC)Reply

Who cares if someone spoke the part for her. She can't act worth a (*&^%^&#@@ anyway. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.119.151.233 (talk) 02:44, 1 June 2013 (UTC)Reply

A lot of viewers, critics and nominating committees would disagree with you. She's received many nominations for major acting awards (including Golden Globes and Oscars), and has won more than a few. Younggoldchip (talk) 15:24, 18 January 2015 (UTC)Reply

Passions edit

Just curious as to whether Ms MacDowell is passionate about any particular subject (ie. cancer, drug abuse, education) which she lends her name and efforts for fundraising? Does she speak out on anything or go on volunteer missions anywhere? I think those items when they exist give a fuller picture of a person. Anyone know? Thanks. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.94.162.154 (talk) 13:06, 6 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
