There is an inaccuracy in the article regarding the date of the subject's comments regarding Vimy Ridge. These comments were widely publicized on April 10, 2013, the 96th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge, but the blog entry from which they originated was actually created on April 10, 2007, the 88th anniversary of that battle. Here is the link to the blog post in question:

These dates are important, given the political undertones arguably linked to the timing of the recent news release. The subject was not a Member of Parliament at the time the blog was posted, but he is one now.
