Recent Edits

The material that has been added recently appears to be unsourced and not neutral. Are there any reliable sources for any of the new sections added? I feel there is a heavy positive slant on the material as well. I would like to start a discussion with a view to expanding the article. TNXMan 12:56, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

Material added to this article should be objective, not personal knowledge. It must be verifiable with sources, and referenced: see WP:REFB. Ty 14:21, 16 February 2010 (UTC)

My name is Dale Donley and I'm the co-founder of Aesthetica Magazine. I've added a little more factual infomation relating to publishing dates and Cherie winning the 'Young Business Entrepreneur of the Year Award'. In addition, I've removed the image and in its place put an infobox. The image that you have on file is very old and no longer represents the magazine. I'm sorry, but the material you added was not reliably sourced. I've also restored the image, as having an image is better than not having one. If there is a better image that can be used, it can definitely be uploaded.

You have removed the image again with the edit summary "Removed image as requested with conflict with copyright ownership." There is no copyright conflict, as the image is used under the fair use section 107 of the United States Copyright Act of 1976. Please note this is not an article by the magazine, but an article about the magazine in an encyclopedia, whose policies must be followed in writing it. I have given you links to these in the section immediately above and also at User_talk:Cherie_Federico#Edits_to_Aesthetica, but you do not appear to have read them, and have not followed them by again, as Tnxman307 has pointed out, adding unreferenced material.

You have up to now not engaged in any dialogue or made any edit summaries, but simply added or removed material. If this conduct continues, you are likely to be blocked from editing altogether. We are happy to work with you over the content, but this is a two-way process. Content is determined by consensus, not unilaterally, and certainly not by the dictate of article subjects: see WP:COI as mentioned above.

Could you please explain also why you identify as Dale Donley, but are editing under the name of your colleague, Cherie Federico? This contravenes our Username policy. You should also make sure you log in with the user name, when you edit, and not edit under different names or as an anon IP; see WP:SOCK.

I have no objection to an image of the current format of the magazine cover being used in the infobox, but would like to see what Tnxman307 thinks about this first. The article is not just about what Aesthetica is now, but its whole history. Would you be prepared to release an image under CC-BY-SA, or possibly two, one of the old style and one of the new, so they can both be documented properly?

Hi Wikipedia. I do appreciate your advice that me as a founder of Aesthetica is a conflict of interest, however the person who set up our reference got some information wrong and I wanted to correct it. If I am not allowed to update it, then that is okay, however I really would prefer not to use that image. I own the copyright to the image, and nobody has ever asked me if it is okay for Wikipedia to use it. I have tried to supply a new image, but it keeps being deleted due to copyright. I have even being in contact with a member of your team about this and filled out the paperwork on two occasions, but still it is still refused. I therefore would really prefer an image not to be used. It is four years old and does not represent to magazine. I've only just noticed this after my post above: new talk goes at the bottom of the page. Certainly correction of wrong information is most welcome, either in the article or posted here for other editors to attend to. You are allowed to edit, provided wikipedia policies are adhered to, primarily WP:V, WP:NPOV and WP:NOR. Otherwise, just raise matters on this talk page.

See previous section regarding copyright and fair use provision. I can't find any deleted image that you have uploaded.[2] If you want to release a specific image, the you can email it to me from the official Aesthetica address to my user name @gmail.com stating that you own the copyright and release the image under the following licences:

Creative Commons Attribution-Sharealike 3.0 Unported License (CC-BY-SA) and GNU Free Documentation License (GFDL) (unversioned, with no invariant sections, front-cover texts, or back-cover texts)

Basically it means that the image can be reused/modified by anyone (including for commercial use) under the same terms as the initial licence, but author credit has to be given. This can be a low resolution image (say 400 - 1000 pixels maximum height/width).

You can release whatever images you want, e.g. old and new cover formats, photo of the founder(s) etc.

Edgy Twitter account

This Twitter account wouldn’t happen to be affiliated with this magazine, would it? It doesn’t seem likely; the poster uses the name “Aesthetica”, but he writes more like Tyler Durden than like someone you’d expect to see running this type of magazine.
