Needed articles.

We should have an article on every pyramid and every nome in Ancient Egypt. I'm sure the rest of us can think of other articles we should have.

Cleanup.

To start with, most of the general history articles badly need attention. And I'm told that at least some of the dynasty articles need work. Any other candidates?

Standardize the Chronology.

A boring task, but the benefit of doing it is that you can set the dates !(e.g., why say Khufu lived 2589-2566? As long as you keep the length of his reign correct, or cite a respected source, you can date it 2590-2567 or 2585-2563)

Stub sorting

Anyone? I consider this probably the most unimportant of tasks on Wikipedia, but if you believe it needs to be done . . .

Data sorting.

This is a project I'd like to take on some day, & could be applied to more of Wikipedia than just Ancient Egypt. Take one of the standard authorities of history or culture -- Herotodus, the Elder Pliny, the writings of Breasted or Kenneth Kitchen, & see if you can't smoothly merge quotations or information into relevant articles. Probably a good exercise for someone who owns one of those impressive texts, yet can't get access to a research library.

Amarna letter EA 34 edit

The Amarna letters continue to be underestimated in their importance (my opinion). When I talk of them, I find it nice that they exist 100 years prior to Ramses II of about 1250 BC. Since his pharaohship, and his Ramesseum are a delineated timeframe in Ancient Egyptian history.

My comment about Clay tablet EA 147 is this. The Hymn to the Pharaoh contained in the letter, and the source of its name is profound (and poorly transliterated). But my curious question is this. Anyone who looks at the letter will see that the first line clearly states "Message King land A-La-Ši-iYa" (now I realize it was letter Amarna letter EA 34, from King of Alashiya). ////I can't get over that nobody discusses this. Since there are articles concerning Alashiya, yet No-one references Tyre, and this letter's claim to be from the King of Land A-la-sh-iya. (I realize most people only read translations (or mistranslations), but this is a glaringly obvious clue about a Great Amarna Clay tablet letter. ////partial section corrected, (I think letter 147 have similar breaks on tablet)--Mmcannis (talk) 18:40, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply

I was just able to use the CDLI, and found that the letter I was referring to is an Alashiya letter Amarna letter EA 34. Sorry, the CDLI link (line drawing, and Akkakian): [1].

The problem is -- the Hymn to the Pharaoh, is lines 8 thru line 15, is not in Moran's translation of EA 34, but shows up instead in Amarna letter EA 147. !! Mmcannis (talk) 20:09, 3 July 2018 (UTC)Reply
