Tagaung dynasty and the Shan edit

@ShanGuy37: please do not change cited text without an explanation. The citation (Hardiman 1901: 216–217) says the sawbwas claimed descent from the Buddha according to Shan chronicles. If you have a reliable citation to support that the sawbwas also claimed descent from the Tagaung dynasty, you can add it. FWIW, I did check Prof. Sai Aung Tun's History of the Shan State (2009). The closest mention I can find is on p. 20 where he states "the story of the founding of Ta-Kwong" found in the Burmese chronicles is "closely linked with the Shan chronicles of the old days. The northern Shan chronicles also tell, as myth or folk history, how the Shan came down from the mountains of southern Yunnan into the Mao valley of the Shweli River to form a beachhead to migrate into Myanmar." But he doesn't say that they founded Tagaung, or that any of the sawbwas claimed descent from Tagaung. Hybernator (talk) 04:34, 1 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
