Article Improvement edit

Damon.cluck,

I have done some "fixing up" of the article. I feel there is a need for some improvement on the article and I will note the following for attention:

  • Opening paragraph needs to be expanded with citations, references etc.
  • Organisation Section
    • Why is there a "—" for "Lieutenant-Colonel;—Brown"?  DoneAleutian06 (talk) 15:05, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
    • Why do some Companies have "Nicknames" and others don't?
Most Companies were formed as Volunteer Companies in their local area (County) and adopted a name before reporting to the mustering point to be formed into regiments. Many, but not all, of these companies had been enrolled in the state militia before being inducted into Confederate Service. Many of these "local designations" were included on the unit muster rolls when they were mustered into Confederate Service.Aleutian06 (talk) 15:04, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
    • Company G has no-one incharge and no enlistment date.
  • Battles Section
    • Reference 10 what information does that point too?
Liberty Gap was one of the actions that make up the Tullahoma Campaign. Confederate Forces under Bragg, including the Division of Genral Patrick Cleburn defended a series of mountain gaps south of Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Other actions in this campaign included the Battle of Hoover's Gap which was very simlular to Liberty Gap. No article has been done yet on Liberty Gap it's self yet. Battles aren't really my cup of tea. I may just make the link a redirect to the Tullahoma Campaign article which describes the battle of Liberty Gap.Aleutian06 (talk) 15:42, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
  • Consolidation and Surrender
    • Is "Company E — 4th Arkansas Infantry" and "Company F — 4th Arkansas Infantry" the same?
Yes they refer to the same unit. When the consolidation was done, they formed as many companies as possible from the remenants of the previous regiments. Companies E and F were both formed from the survivors of the 4th Arkansas Infantry Regiment. Some of the regiments were only able to man one understrength company at this point. • Biblography Section
    • This section needs to be properly done.
      • For example:
      • Horton, Dick. (1983). Ring of Fire: Australian Guerilla Operations Against the Japanese in World War II. London: Leo Cooper/Secker and Warburg; Melbourne. ISBN 978-0-43620-157-8.

I hope this helps you improve the Article. Adamdaley (talk) 08:30, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply

Thanks, I will get to work on these improvements. Aleutian06 (talk) 15:03, 30 September 2011 (UTC)Reply
